How FoodByMaria rebuilt her email list to 124,000 subscribers

When Maria Koutsogiannis pivoted her content to Greek food, she deleted her 80,000-subscriber list and started over with about 10,000. Her biggest driver since: a weekly Sunday Dinner Club meal plan that adds about 1,000 new subscribers/week. The same list helped her cookbook Greek Out reach #2 in all cookbooks on Amazon in its first week.

Meet the people subscribed to your email list

Your email list is more than just a wall of email addresses. With Subscriber Signals, you’ll see:

  • Profile photos and social links: see who a subscriber is at a glance, without leaving Kit to look them up
  • Bios in your list: know what someone does and what they create before you reach out
  • Keyword and bio search: pull up the podcast hosts, founders, and authors on your list by searching for what they do

Use it to spot potential collaborators, brand partners, and the longtime readers you’d love to hear from.

Offer payment plans for your products

Do you offer a coaching program? How about an email course, a week-long retreat, or an event? So much time and work goes into these kinds of offerings, so it makes sense that they cost more.

Payment plans for big-ticket items help make them more accessible to your customers. And you get to choose how frequently you get paid—monthly, quarterly, or yearly.

A few things to keep in mind when offering payment plans:

  • Trust that you’re worth it. We know it can feel intimidating to put a big price tag on your own work. But make sure you’re not selling yourself short when you’re pricing your high-value products. Payment plans mean that your customers can set a payment schedule that works for them and their budget.

  • Announce payment plans in your product launch emails. Let your customers know up front that they have options when it comes to paying for your products.

  • Include discounts. Because who doesn’t love a sale? With payment plans, your discount can be applied to each payment.
