Automate your cold subscriber cleanup
Cold subscribers are confirmed members of your email list who haven’t opened your emails for a while. You can set up an automation that tries to reengage them. If that doesn’t work? Then it unsubscribes them from your list. Use this template to set up the automation.
Here’s why removing cold subscribers is important:
- It improves deliverability. The more engaged subscribers are on your list, the better. Email providers will recognize your reputation, and your emails will be less likely to land in spam folders.
- It boosts engagement. When you remove inactive subscribers from your list, it will likely push up your open and click rates.
- It could save you money. Cleaning out cold subscribers might drop you into a lower pricing tier. If this happens, make sure to reach out to Kit support to downgrade your plan.

Kit for developers (Beta)
Our self-serve app developer platform is now in open beta for everyone to access with our brand new V4 API. You can create an app that…
- Manages subscribers
- Tracks purchases
- Creates, schedules, and targets Broadcast emails
- Creates plugins for the email editor with content blocks
- Uses bulk endpoints to create subscribers, tags, and custom fields
- Automates your own individual workflows
- Test and iterate your app with API Keys
Publish your app directly in your Kit and it’ll be added to our App Store when it’s been approved by the Kit Team.
